Description | Depiction of a warrior with pot helmet, high neck collar, many sword hangings. Fragments of a spear. In the 4 corners crocodile heads. "In the corners of many plaques are designs ... relating to Olokun ... crocodiles. The appearence of so much Olokun imagery as background in plaques depicting court ritual and court life is a perfect commentary on the period of Esigie's reign (16th cent) when the powers of the sea worked behind the oba to strengthen and expand the kingdom.
